Captain Jim Ross is a
United States Coast Guard licensed captain and owner of
Fineline Fishing Charters in Rockledge located on Florida's
East Coast just 40 minutes from Orlando International
Airport. He is a
third generation native and full time fishing guide working
on the productive waters of central Florida over 250 days a
year. His understanding of the feeding habits and migratory

Life long
experience
At a young age, Jim started
chasing various near shore and backwater species with light
tackle and has acquired the skills and patience to land
massive fish on extremely light gear. His passion for light
tackle fishing shows.
Capt. Jim has an International Game Fish Association (IGFA)
World Record certificate in the Fly Fishing division to show
for it. He is also heralded as one of the pioneers credited

2008 Skeeter Boats
celebrates its 60th year of boat building. Captain Jim is
named to the Skeeter Boats/Yamaha Motors National Fishing
Team. With this accomplishment he joins a very impressive
and exclusive list of professional anglers. Jay Yellas, Dean
Rojas, and Alton Jones (winner of the 2008 Bass Master
Classic) are just a few of the top ranked fishing
professionals who have also chosen to fish from the deck of
a Skeeter boat.
Captain Jim's new Skeeter ZX-22 Bay is faster and more
comfortable than any of his previously sponsored boats.

fishing expertise in the Central Florida area, Captain Jim

question live on the air.
Fishing Academy
In March of 2002 Capt. Jim co-founded the first "light tackle"
fishing school in Florida called the
Indian River Fishing Academy. Over the past seven years
thousands of satisfied students have graduated from
this school. For 2009 and 2010 Captain Jim is introducing a
new series of highly informative classes called the
Inshore Fishing Academy.
He has expanded upon his original class concept and actually
created five new "species specific" courses. These are
in-depth courses designed to teach anglers how to
specifically target speckled trout, redfish, tarpon, cobia,
and king mackerel. With a total of seven different classes
to choose from, the new Inshore Fishing
Academy curriculum
will help anglers learn at a faster pace than any of Capt.
Jim's previous fishing schools. The new
Inshore Fishing Academy
is now better and more informative that ever. Capt. Jim
realizes that evolution can not be stopped, so his schools
concepts have evolved with the times as well. For more
information about the Inshore Fishing
Academy please

latest tournament sponsor is DriGrip
Fisherman's SPF-30 Sunscreen. This revolutionary product is
